FORGIVENESS OF SIN

One of the frequent utterances of the master Jesus especially at the verge of the exhibition of his healing powers was, thy sins are forgiven thee. In fact in Luke chapter 5 verse 24, the master Jesus said that he had a right to declare to a mortal that his sins were forgiven. LUKE 5:24… BUT THAT YOU MAY KNOW THAT THE SON OF MAN HAS AUTHORITY ON EARTH TO FORGIVE SINS

No doubt, the holy bible is a well of truth, but obviously, its teachings are too deep for many to understand. The ambivalent statements of the master Jesus pertaining forgiveness of sins, And Accountability in the Day of Judgement is quite confusing. The master Jesus wholeheartedly proclaimed the forgiveness of sins and at the same time most insistently, on sowing and reaping. At one time the master Jesus said, we shall account for every idle word, and at another he said… Son be of good cheer thy sins are forgiven. Interestingly, the master Jesus told mankind he never came to destroy the ageless law of sowing and reaping. LUKE 5:20… AND WHEN HE SAW THEIR FAITH, HE SAID UNTO HIM, MAN, THY SINS ARE FORGIVEN THEE.  MATTHEW 12:36 BUT I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT EVERY IDLE WORD THAT MEN SHALL SPEAK, THEY SHALL GIVE ACCOUNT THEREOF IN THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT. MATTHEW 5:17…“DO NOT THINK THAT I HAVE COME TO ABOLISH THE LAW OR THE PROPHETS; I HAVE NOT COME TO ABOLISH THEM BUT TO FULFIL THEM.

Did you hear? He never came to planet earth for the purpose of acting as an opponent of the law. The goal of the master Jesus was not to prevent the fulfilment of Galatians 6 verse 7. GALATIANS 6:7…. BE NOT DECEIVED; GOD IS NOT MOCKED: FOR WHATSOEVER A MAN SOWETH THAT SHALL HE ALSO REAP. Therefore, people like us who believe I mean, really believe in sowing and reaping, sincerely reject any and every theory of forgiveness of sins as being inconsistent with it. The phrase thy sins are forgiven was not truly meant to enter into a violent confrontation with the spiritual law of sowing and reaping.

WHAT FORGIVENESS OF SIN CANNOT DO:

My brother man and sister woman, we will not escape from the consequences of our sins in this world, even though the Almighty God has forgiven us. Forgiveness of sin pronouncement, cannot exonerate any mortal from the natural consequences of his sinful actions. A born again alcoholic addict might still suffer from heart muscle disease, anaemia, fatigue, shaken nerves, and cancers emanating from habitual drinking. A born again alcoholic addict will continue to suffer from lack of confidence shown towards him, by family members and acquaintances.

GALATIANS 6:7

My brother man and sister woman, this is planet earth, Evil lives here. Evil actions perpetrated by mortals is higher than acts of love and compassion. Of a truth, I tell you, Galatians 6 verse 7, is telling mankind every deed has two sides, one aspect of the deed is at the front, and the other aspect of it is out of sight. When a crime is perpetrated for instance, a group of evil-minded people invading a village, Killing young and old people and burning houses. What we see and talk about, is the outer aspect of the crime we don’t talk about the invisible aspect of the heinous crime because it is out of sight. Spiritually, the evil-minded people who invaded and killed people in the village have attached sorrow to themselves. The sorrow emanated from the evil seeds they sowed in the village, the sorrow attached to each of them is the karmic result of their crime. Reaping moment will not come immediately, but it must surely come and when it does, they must pay to the last farthing.

REAPING VERSUS FORGIVENESS OF SINS

Reaping simply means the physical manifestation of the karmic results of the wrong done by a sinful person. And forgiveness of sins denotes, getting rid of the karmic manifestation and restoration of harmony. I want you to bear in mind, most sicknesses are often karmic manifestations emanating from past evil actions.

Now, if you examine forgiveness of sins from the spiritual point of view and perhaps from the angle of some biblical pronouncements such as God is not mocked, which means do not think that God will allow you to mock him, whatever you sow, that shall you also reap. If you sow sparingly, you shall reap sparingly. If you sow bountifully you shall also reap bountifully and lastly, with what measure ye meet, it shall be measured to you again etc. you will realize that forgiveness of sins Can only take place when the sinner has almost exhausted his karma and not at the early stages of karmic manifestation. Let me read out the sequence that leads to forgiveness of sin and healing.

  1. MOST SERIOUS OR DEADLY DISEASES, ARE OFTEN MANIFESTATIONS OF KARMA.
  2. WHEN THE SICK PATIENT, HAS EXHAUSTED, THE KARMA OF HIS SIN, HE MIGHT COME, IN CONTACT, WITH A DIVINE BEING, FOR INSTANCE, LIKE THE MASTER JESUS.
  3. THE DIVINE BEING, SPIRITUALLY SEES, THE PAST AND PRESENT OF THE SICK PATIENT.
  4. THE DIVINE BEING KNOWS THAT, THE SICK PATIENT, IS ALMOST AT THE VERGE OF EXHAUSTING THE KARMA BEHIND HIS SICKNESS.
  5. BASED ON THAT, THE DIVINE BEING WILL OPENLY DECLARE, FORGIVENESS OF THE SINS, OF THE SICK PERSON AND THEN, RESTORE HEALTH AND HARMONY TO THE PERSON.

In the light of what I have said, it is right and proper to assume forgiveness of sins utterances of the master Jesus, are declarative statements. The master Jesus knows that, the karma of the sick patient is almost exhausted. He makes the pronouncement which gives relief to the mind of the sick person,of a truth I tell you, if you probe the healing of the master Jesus, you will realize that faith was the prerequisite, needed for successful healing. The master Jesus said the following,

  1. ”I tell you the truth, this is the greatest faith I have found, even in Israel “go home, your servant will be healed just as you believed he would.
  2. Daughter, your faith has healed you.
  3. When Jesus saw their faith he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.
  4. Rise and go; your faith has made you well.
  5. And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, thy sins are forgiven thee.
  6. Her sins, which are many are forgiven for she loved much
  7. And he said unto him arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Why am I telling you all these? I yearn to refresh your memory, to enable you realize that the master Jesus’s intermittent declarations of your sins are forgiven are constantly Interwoven with the statements of exhibition of faith, on the part of the sick patient. Without faith, the healing would have been impossible, all we hear is arise, go thy way, your faith made thee whole. Or daughter, your faith has healed you: or, according to your faith, it will be done unto you etc. Do you know what that means? It means, it was the faith of the sick person that actually terminated the karma behind the sickness. It’s like a school competition, If a boy sees his mother in the crowd, eulogizing and encouraging him the boy will be motivated to do his best. Everything now depends on the child to either win or lose in the competition.
