Some people believe they can magically turn your life around, this thought process isn’t completely wrong because there is power in the tongue and mind. But this is only possible when affirmations are done the right way. 

And on that note, here is everything you need to know about positive affirmations. 

What are positive affirmations? 

Positive affirmations are phrases and sentences you write and say out loud to yourself and into the universe/your environment. They are sentences that you speak to change or rewire your mind and your life. These affirmations are wishes, dreams and desires spoken into existence. 

Some people liken positive affirmations to manifestations, and positive thinking are a great way to manifest the things you want and the life you want. Even science has shown that it is possible to manifest or change your life through positive affirmations. Scientists have explained this through what they call neuroplasticity

How it changes your life 

Of a truth, Positive affirmations and thinking will make a huge difference in your life. First, positive thinking make you look at everything in a positive view, so it doesn’t matter if you are in a bad situation. You find yourself always seeing only the positive aspect of that situation and focusing on it. This automatically enables you to make the best out of that situation.

Second, positive affirmations have you radiating positive energy. This type of energy is like a magnet, draws people towards you and in turn, attracts opportunities. You also attract like-minded people who will invest in your life. 

Third, you will be happier. Positive affirmations make you happier because you only focus on the positives. This will inadvertently improve your mental health and well-being, improving your standard of life. 

Fourth, your physical health would also improve. Multiple studies show how much of a difference a positive mind can have in your life. A proverb says you attract what you fear, and spiritually this is true. If you constantly think about anything, you are inviting it to manifest in your body. 

It is important that you do not fill your subconscious mind with negative thoughts or fear because that is what you will attract. You have the ability to manifest anything with your mental powers, always choose something positive. 

How to use positive affirmations

Before you start saying positive words, bear in mind that just any random phrase will not work. You have to tally your affirmations to your specific needs and issues. So do not start reading any phrase you find on the internet. 

So here is how to create your positive affirmations, 

  • Pick parts of your life you aim to improve
  • Be passionate
  • Use present tense
  • There should be no negatives. E.g. no, don’t. 
  • Make your sentence meaningful, and direct.

When you have created your positive affirmations you need to say them correctly and here is how to do that; 

  • Say them aloud
  • Visualize them
  • Do them repeatedly 
  • Match your affirmations with actions. For instance, If you want to be a successful business person, work towards it. 
  • As you say your affirmations, speak enthusiastically. Demonstrate as you speak, clap your hands, smile, laugh, etc. 

My brotherman and sisterwoman, positive affirmations are not magic. You cannot just wish it and it appears, you must be patient and work in accordance with your affirmations. When you do this, you will see the change that you seek.
