Sexual intercourse as ordained by God must take place between a male and a female and is created solely for the aim of procreation, but it is no news or strange occurrence, in recent times, to hear of a sexual relationship between two individuals of the same sex. The term “Homosexual” was coined by a German-speaking Hungarian writer, Karl Maria Kertbeny, in the 1880s, and over the next decade, some religious groups promoted the concept of “Conversion Therapy” claiming an individual can change their sexual orientation or stop being a homosexual through prayers and barbaric practices that involved electrocution and/or forced starvation.

Psychologists in the 19th and 20th centuries, most of whom classified homosexuality as a form of mental illness, developed a variety of theories on its origin. It is presumed that many instances of homosexuality result from a combination of genetics and environmental or social influences. Before this, homosexuality was considered pathological.

The most rational spiritual reason why homosexuals exist is deeply rooted in reincarnation. A male soul can be reincarnated into a female body or a female soul can be reincarnated into a male body, thereby causing internal confusion and dilemma within the individual. Sometimes, this internal dilemma can manifest in sexual attraction to people of the same sex or constantly feeling trapped in their bodies. Some of them have also undergone complex surgeries to make sure that their human bodies and sexual organs outwardly portray the way they feel in their innermost being.

Despite the fact that homosexuality is no longer considered a mental disorder, some mental health practitioners in various disciplines still continue to try and treat homosexuality as a disorder to be “fixed”.

Homosexuality is a major affliction which has devastated countless people and is still actively devastating people which means there will be a continual search for the cure for homosexuality. Prolonged prayers might help human beings who voluntarily indulge in homosexual practices but it cannot deliver human souls who came into this world with homosexual tendencies as it is part of the very fibre of their being, which is the soul.
