What does it mean for a human to be made in the likeness and image of God? It implies that the divine essence resides within every one of us and we all have spiritual origins. Unfortunately, a bulk of people only trust what they can see. A lot of people hide behind the phrase, “seeing is believing”, but of the truth, I tell you, you cannot see the power of thought or any other hidden abilities you possess with your physical sight. Despite this, you only need to believe—I mean, truly believe—that they exist and have faith in them to inspire them to work for you.
My brother-man and sister-woman, we are in a very materialistic world which makes us continually place a high value on worldly things and unable to comprehend the power of positive thinking or the mental devastation brought on by the accumulation and storage of negative thoughts. People in the society pray together to overcome the difficulties they face and in secret, people fast, pray and engage in midnight devotions in hopes of receiving a divine intervention to solve their issues but most of them are unaware that the good Lord frequently knocks on the door of the mind after prayers and fasting. He will come in and help them if they hear his voice and open the gate for him. If they fail to open the gate, they might not obtain answers to their prayers.
Since the majority of us do not give the mysteries surrounding the power of positive thinking our full attention and contemplation, its name will almost surely be misunderstood, misused, and eventually forgotten. Do not forget that we have been told that having confidence in things we cannot see with our physical eyes would bring us blessings.
Create a positive thought within you, and cling to it firmly, until you obtain visible results.
Positive thinking will repel negative thoughts, which is a barrier to your irrepressible efforts to present your prayer request before God. Positive thinking will enable you to access the divine presence of God, which is present at the center of your mind. Positive thinking will create a conducive atmosphere that attracts blessings and divine interventions. Positive thinking means you are resting on a solid spiritual foundation for “As a man thinks, so he becomes.”
Let me give an instance,
A boy was kidnapped and locked up in a dark room for days, one day he finally managed to open a window, and started shouting continuously.
“Help me! Please, they want to kill me…!”
His continual screaming attracted people and the number of people he attracted came to his rescue. If the boy did not scream for help, those people would have not come to rescue him because they were not aware of the existence of the locked room or the boy.
In the same vein, it is not your thinking that produces the results you want but the powers you attract unto yourself through persistent positive or negative thinking that will produce the positive or negative result.
In Philippians 4 verse 8, we are admonished to think of praiseworthy and great things. We are also instructed to think only of the good, the pure, and the true. We are advised to firmly concentrate only on positive thoughts so that the positive thoughts we adhere to will produce more positive thoughts. Along the same line, harboring negative ideas will produce more negative ideas. It has the potential to gradually and inexorably rip apart the foundation of your moral character. Your physical body and physical activities outside the home are susceptible to it.
“Thought is real, and it goes on living.”
My brother-man and sister-woman, it is not good that the majority of people casually dismiss thought as mere fantasy or a creation of the mind. People who speak this way certainly lack spiritual awareness since the mind is a creative energy acknowledged in the Bible. I want you to remember that your way of thinking determines your genuine worth or unworthiness.
